Space Diorama

Due March 19, 2010

 

This is a home project that correlates with our science unit on Space. Students will make a shoebox diorama depicting one of the space concepts that we are studying. A short written report (1-2 paragraphs) will accompany the diorama and be glued to the top of the box.

 

Possible topics may include (but are not limited to) the following:

·        Surface of the moon

·        Astronauts walking on the moon

·        The sun

·        Planets of the solar system, or just one planet

·        Phases of the moon

·        Eclipses (lunar or solar)

·        Constellations

·        Meteors

 

Please be creative in your use of a variety of materials. Reference information is readily available at the public library or on the internet. The science textbook is available on line at www.pearsonsuccessnet.com . Your child knows his/her sign-in name and password for this resource. Grading will be based on accuracy of information, creativity, the written report, and an oral presentation in class.
